Frequently Asked Questions
We understand that clients typically have a lot of questions when entering the world of Kosher—or "kashruth". In order to answer some of the more frequently asked questions, we have placed them below. If you have a question that is not answered below, please call (805) 259-5071 or email: firstname.lastname@example.org
Q: What is "kosher"?
A: Kosher, or its Hebrew equivalent, "kashruth" is the Hebrew word for "correct" or "proper" and it means that the food complies with the dietary rules of Jewish Law. For a more detailed explanation see our "Defining Kosher" page.
Q: We want to go kosher; we hear it's better for our business, but isn't it expensive?
A: Not with us. We only charge a reasonable fee based upon travel time and frequency of visit. For more, see our "What are the costs" page.
Q: Can becoming kosher be demanding?
A: Not with us. We are sensitive to your need to run your company and we are unintrusive and considerate of you and your employees.
Q: What if we are open on the Sabbath?
A: If you are not Jewish, this is no problem whatsoever. Even if you are Jewish, although we want every Jew to observe the Sabbath, there are some options available.
Q: If we obtain certification from your agency, will another accept it?
A: Yes, politics notwithstanding. Although we are not as large as some others, we are well known, and we follow the Kosher Laws strictly to the letter.
Q: What Is the International Kosher Council?
A: In the past, a company kosher-certified in today's ever-expanding kosher market has been a confusing and complicated process—BUT NOT WITH US.
IKC will assist in ensuring that your product(s) has universal acceptance while enjoying the best marketing exposure. This advantage can save you thousands of dollars and can enable you to benefit from this thriving and ever-expanding kosher industry.

MAXIMIZING KOSHER PRODUCT OUTPUT
Companies interested in obtaining kosher certification for a particular product are often unaware that their other products are or can be eligible for kosher certification. IKC will assess your total kosher-product potential, allowing you to fully take advantage of your kosher certification.
Because of its long term relationships with major food manufacturers worldwide in the specific task of preparing them for kosher certification, IKC has many resources in the sourcing of kosher ingredients. IKC will assist you in competitively pricing and sourcing your kosher ingredient needs.
CO-PACKS AND PRIVATE LABELS
IKC will set up your kosher certification and coordinate inter-kosher-agency-relations in regards to co-packs and private labels so that all agencies can shake hands while retaining a recommended certification for the base product. This is particularly beneficial to companies with a large clientele of private labels that need to satisfy their customers' requests for kosher certifications by specific agencies.
IKC's motivational goal is to support your company in its kosher process while at the same time servicing the kosher consumer by making more kosher products available. We provide your company the best matches for its kosher certifying needs.
Our allegiance is to the kosher Dietary Laws. Our prime concern is that the consumer accepts your product. Our guarantee to the company is that the certifying agency and the certification process are economical, supportive, and fair.
